phoenix rising
In December 2021, coming on the heels of a two-year anniversary in their industrial art space in Southwest Baltimore’s Pigtown neighborhood, the Phoenix Art Yard hosted an exhibition celebrating its survival and rebirth from its former Hampden alias, the Creative Labs. Curated by Nicole, the two-night exhibition offered a glimpse into the creative, hope-filled evolution of the Baltimore arts community amidst an era of crisis, social unrest, and global uncertainty. It served as a reminder of the primal acts that have helped humans survive and start over again and again since time memorial: creating, community, and storytelling.
The works below are Nicole’s.
