DISCORD: The Stories We Inherit (10.8.26)
$20.00

WHEN: Thursday, October 8, 2026 | 7-8:30 p.m.

WHERE: BLIFTD ART STVDIOS, 2400 Boston St, Baltimore, MD 21224

Rewriting inherited narratives through art and writing.

The stories that shape us often begin long before we do. Family, culture, religion, gender, race, and history all hand us narratives about who we are meant to be. In this Discord, we’ll examine the stories we’ve inherited—both the ones that have sustained us and the ones we’ve outgrown—and consider what it means to become the author of our own.

Participants will create an original collage inspired by the themes that emerge, followed by a guided writing exercise to deepen reflection. Those who wish are invited to share their work and insights in a supportive group conversation.

Upcoming DISCORDS

DISCORD: The anti-hero (12.10.26)
$20.00

WHEN: Thursday, December 10, 2026

WHERE: BLIFTD ART STVDIOS, 2400 Boston St, Baltimore, MD 21224

Reimagining mythology as a lens for understanding ourselves.

Heroes and villains are rarely as simple as the stories suggest. This Discord explores mythology, archetypes, and contemporary narratives to ask what happens when we embrace complexity instead of perfection. Through creative inquiry, we’ll consider the parts of ourselves that don’t fit neatly into traditional roles—and what those contradictions can teach us about resilience, compassion, and transformation.

Participants will create a symbolic collage inspired by a myth, archetype, or personal narrative, followed by a guided writing exercise that explores its deeper meaning. The workshop concludes with an optional opportunity to share reflections and engage in thoughtful dialogue with the group.

DISCORD: Writing the Shadow (1.14.27)
$20.00

WHEN: Thursday, January 14, 2027

WHERE: BLIFTD ART STVDIOS, 2400 Boston St, Baltimore, MD 21224

Reflective creative practice inspired by shadow work and the unconscious.

The shadow is not simply what we hide—it’s also where forgotten strengths, unmet needs, and untold stories often reside. This Discord invites participants into a gentle exploration of the unconscious through creative practice, using curiosity rather than judgment to illuminate what has been overlooked, suppressed, or waiting to be reclaimed.

Participants will begin by creating an intuitive collage that gives visual form to the unseen, followed by guided reflective writing inspired by the imagery they’ve created. Those who feel called may share their work and reflections as part of an optional closing conversation rooted in listening, empathy, and mutual respect.

DISCORD: Redacted (11.12.26)
$20.00

WHEN: Thursday, November 12, 2026 | 7:00-8:30 p.m.

WHERE: BLIFTD ART STVDIOS, 2400 Boston St, Baltimore, MD 21224

A collage workshop exploring media, gender, and reclaiming narrative.

What happens when we interrupt the stories that have been written for us? Inspired by acts of erasure, revision, and reconstruction, this Discord examines how media, language, and imagery influence our understanding of identity, gender, beauty, and power. Together we’ll consider what deserves to be crossed out, what deserves to be preserved, and what new meanings can emerge in the spaces between.

Participants will create a collage using curated source materials before responding to their work through a reflective writing prompt. An optional sharing circle offers space for conversation, interpretation, and collective discovery.
